Don't Wake The Fish

27 - 29 May 2016

A weekend on our lawns listening to some of the West Country's best bands and DJs Brother Noah and Louis to the backdrop of our remarkable moorland and the Atlantic.  Potentially it doesn't get better than this.

Barrels of beer from some of Cornwall's best brewers, Cornish cider from Skreach, wine from Wild Wines, coffee from Yallah, arts & crafts from Newlyn's Makers Market and food from our very own Field Kitchen.

We've decided to ticket the event this year as we felt the need to invest in the facilities and experience for visitors to make it the very best small festival that it can be.  We understand that some will be disappointed but hope that most will see the reason why.

If you've any questions about DWTF 2016, please talk to Juliet here.  To see how 2015 turned out or for an idea of what's in store for 2016, have a look on our Facebook page.  If you'd like to buy a ticket, you can do so here.

Into Autumn

We're open for lunch and supper right through the autumn.  Much as we prefer spontaneity, if you'd like to join us, it's always best to call ahead (01736 796 928) to ensure you have a table when you want one.

The Winter Escape

From Sunday 30th October

There appears to be little incentive in Winter to take more than the odd night off.  But at grey times of the year, you may think you deserve to treat yourself.

So the Winter Escape was born to give our guests the chance to join us for a night on a truly great value offer.  Just one night that can feel like a real break.

From £145 a couple for up to three courses at supper from anywhere on our evening menu, your room and breakfast.  Sunday - Thursday and outside of holiday and half terms until the clocks go forward.  Just email us here.

Vouchers

Ever popular resolutions to difficult present problems, our vouchers can be with you within a couple of days.

For any amount or for a particular offer, they last 12 months and we’re happy to extend them if needed.  They are usable not only here but at The Old Coastguard and at The Felin Fach Griffin up in Wales.

Do email us here if you think we can help.  Sad as it was to leave our previous Blue Peter efforts, we now have proper voucher holders to make for a better present all round.

EATDRINKSLEEP+

SAILING • YOGA • WALKING

Many of you come for a bit of eat, plenty of sleep and perhaps a little drink. And you love to have the freedom to do what you want during the day. But some may wish for a little more structure.

So 2015 saw us introduce new sleepover packages and daily outings which bring you together with some of the very talented people who live here in Cornwall.

Find out more from our teams by emailing us here.  We are currently confirming our timetable for 2017.

ST. IVES FESTIVAL

10 - 24 September

Jazz, poetry, dance, readings.  St. Ives' September Festival has been giving a voice to the talents of Cornwall and beyond since 1977.  Now an important cultural fortnight bringing visitors from all over the UK.  Tickets available from here.

FORAGING DAYS

Our Wild Food Walks from The Old Coastguard and Forage & Feast Days from here at The Gurnard's Head are integral parts of our EDS+ timetable.

Walk the footpaths, hedgerows and shorelines of West Penwith, foraging for ingredients on the way, with the wonderful Caroline Davey of Fat Hen.

The 2016 programme is now complete but Caroline will be posting the 2017 timetable on her website shortly.

Sunday Sleepover

Our first offer at The Griffin back when some of our most recent recruits hasn't even graduated to primary school.

But still popular and good value from £180 for two people, including Sunday lunch and dinner here or at The Old Coastguard, and your room and breakfast while the Winter Escape is on.

“The Gurnard’s Head is so laid-back it seemed only apt to be blown horizontal when we did eventually leave.”
