Cots and Dogs

No supplementary charge for dogs

We welcome dogs as much as their owners and are happy for them to sleep in the bedrooms, although would prefer that they don’t share our beds with their owners.

We have good tables downstairs where they can sit with you while you eat. Do ask for these when booking as so many of our guests decide to bring their dogs when visiting.

No charge also for cots

We have travel cots which we will happily make up for no charge. Although we are delighted to see children of any age, we would want you to be aware before staying that the walls between bedrooms are thin and crying babies can be heard in neighbouring rooms.

For anyone staying in one of our camp or sofa beds, including children of 5+, we charge £25 per night which includes breakfast and the camp bed.

Hoping to stay for a wedding?

For those organising a wedding nearby, we do not accept block bookings for people staying for weddings.

We make no apologies for this, although we sympathise with your frustration. The reason is that we want The Gurnard’s Head to be available for those wanting to escape for a weekend to enjoy the amazing landscape of West Penwith. We hope you understand.




Single Saturday nights

Many hotels ask you to stay two nights or more at the weekend. We prefer not to, but have to keep an eye on the bottom line.

So we do keep a number of our rooms available for Saturday night only stays, but once they are taken up, we will then only accept bookings for Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday. We hope this is fair to all.




Seasonal Sleepover Offers

The Spring and September Sleepovers run respectively for five weeks after Easter and after the Summer Holidays. Up to 3 courses from our usual evening menu, your bed and breakfast and a pot of tea on arrival.  From £259 per couple for two nights.

The Winter Escape is in place for the months while our clocks run on GMT.  From £125 per couple per night for Dinner B&B, but only on Sundays - Thursdays outside of high days and school holidays and half terms.

Cancellation Policy

We would prefer not to charge for cancellations but will do so if we cannot sell a room that has been cancelled. In the event of cancellations we will charge a % of the aggregate room rate to the credit card number you have given us.

For those made less than 7 days before the day of arrival the charge will be 30%, while for those made less than 48 hours before 2pm on the day of the arrival, we will charge 75%.




Single Occupancy

Any of our rooms can be booked for single occupancy, although the most suitable are probably rooms 1 and 2 as the smallest.

Our single room rate starts at £80 per person per night (including breakfast), going up to £125 per person for room 7.
